Urahoro
Urahoro (浦幌町 Urahoro-chō) is the sole township of Tokachi District, in the east of Tokachi Subprefecture bordering Kushiro Subprefecture. Hilly in the east, the southern coast faces the Pacific Ocean. The main industries are arable and dairy farming, forestry and fisheries.
The main JR Nemuro railway line from Obihiro to Kushiro passes through Urahoro, with stations at Shin-Yoshino (新吉野), Urahoro (浦幌), Kami-Atsunai (上厚内), and Atsunai (厚内).
In 2006, Urahoro had a population of 6,222. It has a land area of 730 km² of which 65 percent is forest.
