Toyokoro
Toyokoro (豊頃町 Toyokoro-chō) is a town in Nakagawa District, in the south east of Tokachi Subprefecture, facing the Pacific Ocean. The main industries are agriculture and fisheries.
The main JR Nemuro railway line from Obihiro to Kushiro passes through Toyokoro, with stations at Tōfutsu (十弗), and Toyokoro (豊頃).
In 2006, Toyokoro had a population of 3,884. It has a land area of 537 km².

History
Ninomiya Village was founded in 1880 by the pioneering Ninomiya family from southern Japan. Toyokoro itself dates from 1906.
Places of interest
- Chobushi Lake 4 km west of Otsu. Saltwater lake separated from the ocean by dunes.
- Harunire Elms Two entwined 140-year old elm trees (Harunire (Ulmus davidiana var.japonica) that symbolize Toyokoro.
- Yuudo Lake 31 km south of Moiwa-shi.
