Taiki
Taiki (大樹町 Taiki-chō) is a town in Hiroo District, in the south of Tokachi Subprefecture. It is stretched out in a narrow east-west band from the Pacific Ocean to the Hidaka Mountains. Its main industries are dairy farming, fisheries and forestry.
In 2006, Taiki had a population of 6,407. It has a land area of 816 km².

- Cosmos Garden at the Lifelong Study Center at Futaba-chchō 6-1 is devoted to the town flower - the cosmos.
- Mount Petegari (ペテガリ岳 Petegaridake) (1,736 m) is in the Hidaka Mountains. It can be climbed via Mount Ponyaoromappu (see below). The mountain is 14 km from the trailhead. The walk normally takes two days.
- Mount Ponyaoromappu (ポンヤオロマップ岳 Ponyaoromappudake) (1,406 m) is also in the Hidaka Mountains. The trailhead is reached further along the unpaved track that leads to Sakashita Gorge (see below) - 16 km from Route 55. The peak is 6 km from the trailhead.
- Rekifune River Tokachi's second longest river, said to be the clearest in Japan.
- Sakashita Gorge (坂下仙狭 Sakashita senkyō) is a remote rocky gorge on the Ponyaoromappu River, an upper tributary of the Rekifune River. The gorge is reached by a road leading west off route 55 (in the north of Taiki close to the border with Sarabetsu Village). (Only the first three km of the road are paved.)
