Review
Chez Maeda reminds me of Shinjuku (Tokyo). An elegant place in a dimly lit basement in the centre of town. The food looks fantastic and tastes good if a bit sweet. Simon 06:06, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Worth a visit to Obihiro. As authentic as anywhere in Hokkaido. Italian food lovingly, if slowly, prepared - not a quick pasta/pizza house. Come before the young chef/owner becomes famous! Simon 06:09, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

• Cranberry (クランベリKuranberi) Nishi 2, Minami 6, tel 0155 22 6656 [23] Specializing in sweet potato cakes. Four branches in Obihiro.
• Rokkatei (六花亭) Nishi 2, Minami 9-6, [24]. The headquarters of a nationally famous cake and confectionery company. Six other branches in Obihiro. (Rokkatei is also a patron of the arts, see Nakasatsunai).
• Ryugetsu (柳月) Ōdōri, Minami 8-15, 0155 23 2101 or 0120 669 669 [25]. Factory in Otofuke with 10 branches in Obihiro.
• Uetliberg (ユトリベルグ) Nishi 17, Minami 4-15-7, tel 0155 33 0134 and 0120 01 3470. Open from 09.30 to 19.30. [26] Flying the Swiss flag, this cake shop specializes in purin, the Japanese custard pudding.

Micro breweries
