Mount Kamihorokamettoku
Mount Kamihorokamettoku (上ホロカメットク山 Kamihorokamettokuyama) (1,920 metres) is a stratovolcano[1] that forms the fourth highest peak in the Tokachi Mountains. It forms a section of the border between Kamikawa Subprefecture and Tokachi Subprefecture. It is located in the southwest of the Daisetsuzan National Park.
The rocks on Mount Kamihorokamettoku are predominantly andesite [2].

Hill walk
Kamihorokamettoku is included in the Mount Tokachi walk (see Mount Tokachi). It is accessible from Tokachidake Onsen in under 4 hours 30 minutes (there and back).
The walking season is from July to October.
Kamihorokamettoku Mountain Hut
The Kamihorokamettoku Mountain Hut (Kamihorokamettoku Hinan Goya) is on the northeastern side of the mountain. The hut is said to have water and space for 30 people (current details available from the Kami Furano Town Hall tel 0167 45 6983).
