Honbetsu
Honbetsu (本別町 Honbetsu-chō) is an agricultural township in Nakagawa District, on the eastern side of Tokachi Subprefecture.
In 2006, Honbetsu had a population of 9,057. It has a land area of 392 km².

- Honbetsu Museum of History and Ethnology There is a War Horse Memorial at the museum commemorating 'Uranus', the horse on which Takeichi Nishi won the 1932 Olympics show jumping gold medal [1]. Nishi was stationed at the Tokachi army horse breeding unit in Honbetsu between April 1940 and August 1941 [2]. (The mane of Uranus was apparently discovered in America in 1990 and is now kept there [3].)
- Honbetsu Park (本別公園 Honbetsu Kōen) Higashi-chō. 26 hectare park with multiple recreational facilities.
