Hokkaipedia:About

Hokkaipedia is a island wiki devoted to Hokkaidō, the northern part of the Japanese archipelago.

The website was set up by Simon Holledge on 26 September 2007. It's now under construction - which means that the basic configuration is being done, with some explanations and example pages for Obihiro and other places in Tokachi Subprefecture to show the type of content this site is going to have. That's the first stage.

The second stage will be to start publicizing Hokkaipedia, get it listed by the search engines and invite contributors to sign on and start writing.

Hokkaipedia is published with MediaWiki (version 1.11), the same software used by Wikipedia.
