Hidaka Sanmyaku-Erimo Quasi-National Park

The Hidaka Sanmyaku-Erimo Quasi-National Park (日高山脈襟裳国定公園, Hidaka-Sanmyaku Erimo Kokudeikōen) was established by the central government on 1 October 1981. It extends over 103,447 hectares.

Located in the central, southern section of Hokkaidō, the park forms most of the physical boundary between the subprefectures of Hidaka and Tokachi, extending from the Karikachi Pass in the centre of the island some 150 km south to Cape Erimo (襟裳岬 Erimomisaki) on the Pacific Ocean.

The park is in three separate sections. The main northern part, which is by far the largest, contains the Hidaka Mountains (日高山脈, Hidaka Sanmyaku). Two smaller southern sections contain Cape Erimo (and a long section of coastline to the north of it) and Mount Apoi (アポイ岳 Apoidake), an area important for wild plants.
