City, region and island wikis
Hokkaipedia may be the world's first island wiki, but actually it's not much different from the other city and regional publications that are now becoming popular in many countries. There is already at least two in Japan - in Nagasaki [1] in Japanese, and Tsukuba [2] in English and Japanese.
Wikipedia has a useful list of local wikis [3], mainly in the United States, Germany and Britain.
