Ashoro District
Ashoro (足寄郡 Ashoro-gun) is a district in Tokachi Subprefecture. It occupies a large area of the northeast of the subprefecture and is divided into two townships, Ashoro and Rikubetsu.
In 2006, the district had a population of 11,411. The total area is 2,016 km².
History
This area was part of Kushiro Province from 1869, but in 1948 it was transferred to Tokachi subprefecture.
